These costumes deserve to dance again even if I no longer do so! Ready to re-appear after being gently used and stored lovingly in my home for the last decade, when I stopped dancing in public to concentrate on my music career. About me: I am currently a wedding musician (violinist/recorderist), arranger/composer, and a freelance writer. high quality used belly dance costumes are left over from my
dancing days in San Diego. Their vintage is mostly early to mid-90s (up
to 1996, to be exact). They are either custom-made or of Egyptian origin, as
indicated. The
skirts, except for the green Egyptian, are adjustable. I'm s elling
these costumes for a fraction of my original purchase price. These are
a great value if you do not require the very latest designs and appreciate
classics! Below I've listed descriptions and photos of what I have available. I may have some other items lurking in my closet and will post these at a later time. | Unique mosaic, or
"crazy quilt" costume made
by star San Diego dancer/designer and utilizing costume jewelry and shimmy scarves
– worn once – could go cabaret or tribal. Set includes belt
and bra. As far as I know
only two of these sets were made: This one and the one the designer
made for herself. Can be worn with any color skirt, but looks
particularly fantastic with black. A little wild but very
interesting .
Below is a photo of t his belt and bra. Because the costume jewelry is glued to the base, belt and bra are stiffer than most. Very dynamic costume, not for the meek of heart! It has held up well in storage, but one button bead needs re-gluing. I paid over $400 to have this set made--which did not include the jewelry ! It was near the end of my dance career, and the costume was tight on me, so I only wore it once. Dimensions: 39" around belt. About 34" around undercup of bra. Probably a C cup.

Sweet and lovely teal/white/silver costume. Includes skirt, belt, bra, and coordinating veil. Custom design made in San Diego. Worn only once on my honeymoon in Kauai and stored since. Below are images of the teal costume. It was designed to be comfortable, light-weight, and to travel well. I acquired the coordinating glitter veil later. Set is in near-new condition. Dimensions: 41" around belt. About 34" around undercup of bra. Three inches of the understrap are elasticized for adjustability. Probably a C cup. |
