Ten Tips for a Smooth, Stately, and Stunning Processional

Celtic Sheet Music Arrangements for Two Instruments by Dorothy Barth

Below are 20 processionals and 17  recessionals played on solo violin and recorded by Dorothy Barth directly into the computer. For the most traditional ceremony music choices,  just look for these icons:

Traditional Bridal   Bridesmaids' favorites
Wedding Processionals: The timing of your processional will depend upon such factors as length of the aisle, how slowly you walk, and the number of bridesmaids. Processionals which take longer to unfold (such as the Pachelbel Canon) are most effective  if you have a long aisle or have several  bridesmaids.

Wedding Music for the Prelude, Meditation, Communion, or Candlelighting
The Prelude music, performed while your guests arrive,  includes 30 minutes of repertory,  generally from the Baroque, Classical, and 19th century Romantic eras. For the Prelude, Dorothy presents an artful mix of contemplative and elegantly upbeat selections.

For the optional meditation or candle lighting, an abbreviated version of one  of the  more lyrical compositions is ideal.

There is no need to select specific prelude music. Dorothy knows what music transitions well to the next selection and will keep in mind the bride and groom's musical tastes when selecting traditional prelude music or, in case of theme weddings, music from the Celtic or Renaissance repertory. Below is a partial list of repertory available for traditional preludes.
